Biggest Disappointment: Bullpen/Wilin Rosario, C.

Save the worst for last is how it goes right? Well, the bullpen was a complete nightmare this season, and that’s just an understatement. Colorado’s pen ranked 29th in the entire league in ERA, sitting at 4.79 — .1 off of the worst bullpen in the league which belonged to the Houston Astros.

Although the bullpen was rough, Tommy Kahnle provided to be an excellent rule-5 draft pick from the New York Yankees. Also, congratulations to reliever LaTroy Hawkins on appearing in his 1,000th game towards the end of the regular season.

Now we move on to Wilin Rosario who just couldn’t figure it out. We all talk about his porous defensive and inability to call games, but the 25-year-old lacked the power he showed the last previous two seasons.

Rosario hit 28 home runs in 2012, followed by 21 home runs in 2013. In 2014 however, Rosario would hit just .268 with 25 doubles, 13 home runs, 54 RBI’s, while striking out 70 times in 382 at-bats. One idea I and many other Rockies followers brought up was the Rockies could trade the catching project to an American League team where he could DH. The Rockies have their hands tied with Rosario moving forward, not knowing what they will get out of him.
