NBA Preview – Game 14: Chicago Bulls vs. Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are one of the hottest teams in the NBA all of sudden, even after starting out the season 1-6. Denver is coming off a 101-94 overtime win over the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday night, which wasn’t the prettiest of games. Tonight the Nuggets host the Chicago Bulls at the Pepsi Center.

In one of the ugliest NBA games you’ll ever see, Denver pulled it off with some timely shots late. Denver’s starting five was strong yet again with four out of the five scoring in double-figures. Wilson Chandler has been on a roll during this win-streak, scoring a team-high 19 points Sunday on 6-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-11 from downtown.

Ty Lawson recorded another double-double in the winning effort, scoring 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting, dishing out 16 assists while shooting 7-of-10 from the charity stripe. Danillo Gallinari hit a big three-pointer late vs. Los Angeles to help Denver to their fourth-straight win. Danilo scored 10 points on 3-of-8 shooting, hauling down 7 rebounds to go with one assist.

Nuggets center JaVale McGee (tibia) will be doubtful for tonight’s game after experiencing soreness in Sunday’s win. He is expected to miss a couple of games. Also, Nuggets shooting guard Randy Foye suffered a right quad tear which will sideline him three weeks.

The Denver Nuggets will face a Chicago Bulls team at top strength it appears. Derrick Rose played in his first game since Nov. 13th Monday night, scoring 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting, collecting 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal in 25 minutes of play.

Pau Gasol also returned to the court vs. Utah after missing three-straight games. Pau scored 23 points on 11-of-20 shooting, hauling down 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in 37 minutes in Chicago’s win.
