Denver Nuggets not willing to part with core players in Brook Lopez trade
By Andrew Dill
In an interesting turn of events, the Denver Nuggets reportedly won’t deal any of their core players in a deal with the Brooklyn Nets. According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, says Denver will not deal any core players in a trade for Brook Lopez.
This is an interesting topic of conversation, considering we don’t know who the ‘core players’ are. Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried are the names that come to mind, but what about Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Arron Affalo, and perhaps Jusuf Nurkic?

Nurkic should be an untouchable simply due to his potential. Denver is willing to part ways with JaVale McGee who has been sidelined with injuries. Denver messed up once they handed JaVale a four-year, $44 million contract after a decent showing in the playoffs against the Los Angeles Lakers. JaVale has the size and athleticism to be a good center in today’s league – perhaps a change of scenery will do him good?
Denver would like to acquire Lopez, giving them a solid option to play inside-out basketball. Denver has lacked that player to give them good looks inside, haven’t seen one in the Mile High City since Nene. The trade (Nene for JaVale) is greatly benefiting the Washington Wizards as we speak, meanwhile Denver is stuck with a hefty contract in JaVale.
