NFL Pro Bowl Recap: Denver Broncos Edition

facebooktwitterreddit

The Denver Broncos were well represented in this year’s Pro Bowl, located in Glendale, Arizona – home of Super Bowl XLIX. Denver would have had more players if it weren’t due to injury. Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas, and Julius Thomas all sat out the festivities Sunday night.

How about the night from Emmanuel Sanders. Denver explosive wideout was featured on Team Irvin and put on a show for the Bronco faithful. Sanders caught five passes Sunday night for 70 yards, recording two touchdowns. You know what that means. Two bows and two Mile High Salutes – it doesn’t get any better than that. His teammate, C.J. Anderson, had a quite night. The rising star carried the ball five times for just 16 yards, 3.2 yards per carry. Anderson did break out a run for 12 yards however.

If you didn’t see the pass Matthew Stafford threw to Sanders for his first touchdown of the night, enjoy.

More from Denver Broncos

It was a pleasure to see so many Broncos on the defense side of the ball Sunday night. Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, T.J. Ward and Chris Harris featured on Team Irvin while Aqib Talib was the lone Bronco on Team Carter. Not to mention former Bronco Elvis Dumervil reunited with Von.

Miller had himself quite the night as fans jabbed at him for playing harder in the Pro Bowl opposed to the AFC Divisional Round Game against the Indianapolis Colts. Miller racked up a total of eight tackles, including three quarterback hits. His teammates Chris Harris and T.J. Ward combined for three tackles on the night. Dumervil capped of his night with six total tackles and two sacks.

Talib was active in his own right on Team Carter. Denver’s All-Pro cornerback racked up five total tackles, including one pass deflection. We even saw Ryan Clady play the right guard position.

Even though we all wanted to watch our beloved Broncos play the next week in the Super Bowl, it was nice to see most of the guys play one final game of the 2014-’15 season, even if it didn’t matter.
