Denver Nuggets: Best thing to do is continue the losing trend

The Denver Nuggets are in a grim place right now, and the players seemingly do not want to be there. According to Chris Dempsey of The Denver Post, the Nuggets players said something in the huddle that can irritate the average fan or quite possibly even management. Here’s what the Nuggets said in the huddle vs. Utah:

"A fourth-quarter huddle late in the Nuggets’ 104-82 loss to the Utah Jazz on Friday broke with this phrase: “1-2-3 … six weeks!”"

That’s absolutely pathetic, but can you blame them? Actually, yes. This is a team that won 57 games two years ago, yet they act like this is their first rodeo. The fundamentals aren’t there, the coaching isn’t there, and the basketball I.Q. obviously isn’t there. A re-haul would be nice, but I’m not sure Tim Connelly views it like that. This is a team that needs to make quite a bit of changes to become relevant in today’s NBA. One thing they can start on right now, which they have been doing, is to continue their losing ways. Sounds a bit redundant, but it gives Denver a better shot at obtaining the number one pick via the Lottery Draft.

More from Denver Nuggets

Denver has 24 games remaining in the 2014-’15 season which covers a span of 46 days. Just 46 days until Denver Nuggets basketball is over, how grand! The nightmare of a season is almost over.

By continuing to lose basketball games, Denver can slide up in the Tankathon rankings. That’s if New York, Philadelphia, Minnesota, Los Angeles Lakers, and Orlando win ball games. Denver is currently riding a five-game losing streak, and 1-9 over their last 10 games. As of right now, Denver has a 21.5% chance to land a top-3 pick, while having a 6.3% chance to land the number one overall pick. Keep losing!

I myself, have tried the “Sim Lottery” option on Tankathon’s site, only to have Denver land in the top-three one time out of ten; obtaining the third overall pick. Granted this draft class doesn’t seem as appealing as some, there are some players that could help Denver out.

Keep your eye out on Denver’s movement throughout the standings over the last two months of action, simply due to lottery implications.
