Brock Osweiler gets the start in week 11 over Peyton Manning after Osweiler entered the game in the third quarter Sunday.

Denver Broncos’ head coach Gary Kubiak stated on Monday that Peyton Manning would not start week 11’s matchup against the Chicago Bears. Gary Kubiak benched Manning in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs after he threw four interceptions while completing only five passes. According to multiple reports, Manning played the game with a torn plantar fascia; thus, Brock Osweiler gets the start in week 11.

Manning broke the All-Time passing yards record on Sunday; however, he put together the worst game of his career. Also, Manning has thrown 17 interceptions in nine games this season, the most by any quarterback. Sunday’s game marked the first time all season that Brock Osweiler threw a pass in the regular season; however, he helped the Denver Broncos to 13 points in just over quarter of work. Broncos’ fans sarcastically applauded the change during Sunday’s game.

With most Denver Broncos’ fans fed up with Peyton Manning’s performances this season, Brock Osweiler provides some fresh air to an otherwise anemic offense. Osweiler finished Sunday’s game against the Chiefs with 146 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Perhaps with a full week of reps ahead of him, he improves on his numbers in week 11 against a pretty poor Bears’ defense. Osweiler provides a big arm with above-average accuracy, so maybe some big plays await him next week.

Broncos’ fans have waited long enough for the Brock Osweiler era to begin in Denver, so now the fans get what they wanted. With the Denver Broncos losing two straight, hopefully Osweiler gets them back into the win column. It remains to be seen how much time Manning misses after week 11, but Osweiler provides a more-than-capable backup to an ever regressing Manning. The Bears come off of a convincing win against the St. Louis Rams, so the Broncos need to bring their A-game.

Also, the Denver Broncos were without star cornerback Aqib Talib in week 10 due to suspension and star defensive end Demarcus Ware due to injury. Thus, the addition of the two looks to bolster the Broncos’ defensive; while, Brock Osweiler and company look to improve on the Broncos’ offensive woes. Look for the Denver Broncos to right the ship in a week 11 matchup against the Chicago Bears. The team needs all the help they can get right now after starting the season 7-0 and losing two straight.
