Denver Broncos LB Von Miller and DB Chris Harris earned All-Pro honors after a stellar season, playing a large part in the team’s number one rated defense.

Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller earned his second-career first-team NFL All-Pro selection, and Chris Harris earned his second-consecutive second-team All-Pro selection. In addition to the All-Pro selections, the duo each received Pro Bowl honors, as well. Both Von Miller and Chris Harris played pivotal roles in helping the Denver Broncos achieve the top-rated defense in the NFL, and their contributions did not go unnoticed.

Although Von Miller is certainly happy with his first-team All-Pro honors, he believes that, with a top-rated defense, the Denver Broncos deserved to have other players achieve first-team nominations (i.e. Chris Harris). Von Miller led the Denver Broncos with 11 sacks and 32 quarterback hits; moreover, he has earned first-team or second-team All-Pro honors in four of his first five seasons in the NFL, signifying the type of player the Denver Broncos have.

"“He’s got great explosion. He’s tremendously quick off  the ball, and he’s probably the quickest in the league.” – Wade Phillips"

In addition to Von Miller, Chris Harris received All-Pro honors, albeit second-team. Chris Harris led the Denver Broncos with over 1,000 snaps played, and he finished the season with 58 tackles, two forced fumbles, two interceptions, and six pass deflections. Chris Harris admitted that his numbers were down this season; however, he acknowledged that the Denver Broncos’ defense, as a whole, performed better.

Chris Harris believes that, if he had a better showing against Antonio Brown (arguably the best receiver in the NFL) and the Pittsburg Steelers, he would have been selected to the first-team. With the Denver Broncos surrendering the fewest passing yards per game in the NFL, both Chris Harris and Wade Phillips believed that the team deserved someone from the secondary to be on the first-team All-Pro. The Denver Broncos deserved more recognition for their accomplishments on the season.

"“I’m surprised the No. 1 defense didn’t get someone in the secondary (on the first-team All-Pro). When you give up the least passing yards, somebody’s covering someone, and we play a lot of man coverage.” – Wade Phillips"

Wade Phillips believes that both Chris Harris and Aqib Talib deserved more recognition than they received this season, illustrated by their snubs on All-Pro honors. Despite having the best defense in the NFL, the Denver Broncos only had one first-team All-Pro selection; while, the Carolina Panthers led the NFL with six first-team All-Pro selections, which leaves many people scratching their heads at how that happened.

In addition to Von Miller and Chris Harris, Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall and cornerback Aqib Talib received Pro Bowl recognition. The Denver Broncos’ defense looks to illuminate why they deserved more recognition on the first-team All-Pro with a strong showing against the winner of the Chiefs/Texans game. Expect the Denver Broncos to come out fired up, led by four Pro Bowl nominees.

The Denver Broncos have a bye week this week, so that will give the team ample time to ready themselves for their upcoming game next week. With the Kansas City Chiefs on a tear, the Denver Broncos hope that the Houston Texans can play spoiler on their 10-game winning streak to finish out the season.
