Denver Nuggets Upend Golden State Warriors, 112-110
The Denver Nuggets narrowly defeated the Golden State Warriors, edging them by a score of 112-110, to improve to 14-24 on the season.
The Denver Nuggets came off of a narrow 95-92 victory to open their eight-game home stand; however, with the win, the Denver Nuggets were 13-24, sitting in 11th place in the Western Conference. The last time the Denver Nuggets and Warriors played, the Warriors opened the game on fire, and the Denver Nuggets had to play catchup the rest of the game.

The Denver Nuggets forced overtime, but they fell short in the end, resulting in a tough loss. However, this time, the Denver Nuggets looked to impose their will, at home, against the reigning NBA Championship Warriors. The Denver Nuggets started Jameer Nelson over Emmanuel Mudiay, because the teams wants to ease Mudiay back into action after missing several games due to an ankle sprain. Also, in the game against the Warriors, Will Barton continued to showcase why he deserves to be Sixth Man of the Year, contributing 21 points and six rebounds in 26 minutes.
Danilo Gallinari led the Denver Nuggets’ in scoring, posting 28 points in 38 minutes of play; however, he struggled from the floor, hitting 5-of-14. In addition to Gallinari and Barton’s strong performances, Gary Harris performed well for the Denver Nuggets, registering 19 points and seven rebounds.
The Golden State Warriors were without Draymond Green, but Stephen Curry stepped up for the team, albeit in a losing effort. Curry dropped 38 points, nine assists, and five rebounds. Also, Klay Thompson scored 17 points, and Harrison Barnes added 18 points of his own. The Denver Nuggets managed to finish out the game, despite a strong showing from Curry.
