Peyton Manning dropped a hint after Sunday’s win against the Patriots that this may be his last season.

After the conclusion of the Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots game, Peyton Manning hinted at the possibility of retiring at the end of the season. Following the Denver Broncos’ win, Peyton Manning met with Bill Belichick at mid-field, and he dropped a line that hinted this could be the last time Peyton Manning and Bill Belichick face off against one another.

"“This might be my last rodeo, so it sure has been a pleasure.” – Peyton Manning"

Once Peyton Manning told Belichick where his mind was at, Belichick told Manning that he is a great competitor. During a post-game news conference, Belichick remained mum on the discussion that took place with Peyton Manning, stating that he did not have anything to share with the media, and that he shared it with Manning.

Peyton Manning has a chance to walk away from the game while on top, similar to how Denver Broncos General Manager John Elway ended his career. Peyton Manning possesses the opportunity to win the second Super Bowl of his career, and cement his place as both an all-time great and a Denver Broncos great.

While Peyton Manning has not openly admitted that this would be his last season, if he wins the Super Bowl, you could bet your bottom dollar this will, indeed, be his “last rodeo.” However, if Peyton Manning loses to the Carolina Panthers, his status remains in limbo during the offseason, opening the door for either a return for the final year on his contract or an early retirement.

This season, Peyton Manning endured the most injury-riddled year of his career (outside of the season he missed due to next surgery). If the Denver Broncos win Super Bowl 50, Peyton Manning and John Elway will share an otherworldly ending to their respective careers. Peyton Manning came to Denver with his eyes set on one goal – to add another Super Bowl under his belt.

Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, but with only one Super Bowl win, a debate remains on who the G.O.A.T. actually is. However, if Peyton Manning could win multiple Super Bowls (and with different teams), he vaults himself into consideration as the greatest of all-time.

There will never be a unanimous decision on who the greatest quarterback of all-time is, but Peyton Manning’s illustrious career certainly puts him in the top-five without question. Look for Peyton Manning to give everything he has, because only he knows if Super Bowl 50 is the last time he steps out on the football field as an active player in the NFL.

Regardless of the outcome in Super Bowl 50, Peyton Manning had an unbelievable career that saw him win numerous NFL MVP awards and set an unfathomable amount of quarterback records. We may never see someone with the same football I.Q. as Peyton Manning, and he is certainly one-of-a-kind. What a career he has had.
