Black Wednesday is the day after the MLB All-Star Game.  It is considered the slowest day of the sports calendar year.  How will you survive?

One thing you can do to pass the time is watch this painfully cute video of Cody Latimer explaining why he nicknamed his infant son ‘fat daddy.’

Mid-July is a time when sites like this one are forced to write about Johnny Manziel’s future and professional lacrosse.

All four of the top major league sports are silent today, and there are no collegiate games either.  It’s something that usually happens only once each year — the day after the All-Star Game.

Some bored media people have taken to calling today Black Wednesday.

More from Denver Sports

There are a handful of WNBA games on today, as well as some MLS match-ups.  However, the Colorado Rapids aren’t playing again until this weekend.

The good news is that things can only get better from here.  And it will happen rapidly.

Just remind yourself that we’re only 56 days away from the start of the NFL regular season, and the Broncos are just weeks away from pre-season action!

As the second half of the MLB season gets underway, there’s a decent chance that the Rockies could remain relevant in the playoff hunt.  At least for a while.

That’s something, right?

And… and… NBA Summer League?

Yeah, it’s a slow day in the sports world.

At least Tom Brady’s 4-game suspension was upheld.
