The NBA announced today that the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers will be travelling to London for a regular-season game at The O2 on January 12, 2017.

This is all part of the NBA Global Games initiative that spreads a handful of regular season games to major international population centers like London, Madrid, Shanghai and Mexico City.

The announcement was made via Facebook Live from the NBA’s European headquarters in London, with Nuggets guard Gary Harris in attendance.  The team logos were revealed via a specially commissioned piece of street art.

“It will be a true honor and a great experience to represent both the Nuggets and the NBA in London as part of the NBA Global Games in 2017,” said Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari.  “Our entire team and organization are looking forward to this opportunity to showcase our league to fans overseas.”

Tickets for the game will go on sale at the beginning of the 2016-17 NBA season.

The Nuggets’ roster currently features Gallinari (Italy), who led the team in scoring last season with a career-high 19.5 points per game, and 2014 FIBA World Cup gold medalist Kenneth Faried (U.S.).

The game will mark both teams’ first trip to the United Kingdom and the league’s seventh regular-season game in London.

“We are thrilled to return for our seventh regular-season game in London,” said NBA commissioner Adam Silver. “With almost 25 percent of players in the NBA born outside of the United States, we are seeing firsthand the global growth of our game, which has never been more popular in the U.K.”

Fans in the U.K. will be able to watch the game live on BT Sport, while fans in Europe will be able to view it through the NBA’s official local broadcast partners.
