Shaquil Barrett

Linebacker. Denver Broncos. Shaquil Barrett. '14. player. 45. Shaquil Barrett was undrafted out of CSU in 2014, but signed to the Broncos practice squad. In 2015, he won a spot on the 53-man roster — and a Super Bowl ring.

On December 21, 2013, Barrett recorded six tackles and had a forced fumble and recovery during CSU’s New Mexico Bowl victory over Washington State.  The forced fumble and recovery came at a critical moment and resulted in the Rams scoring a touchdown to tie the game.

That play was Barrett’s final action at Colorado State and helped cement his selection as the game’s Defensive MVP.

During his senior year, he started in all 14 games and earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Mountain West honors.
