Breakdown and Prediction of Denver Broncos First Four Games
Even though they won the Superbowl last February, the Denver Broncos are getting a lot of disrespect thrown their way by the national media.
They have had a lot of changes to the roster, but the key pieces remain intact. That being said, this wont be an easy road for the Broncos to defend their title.
So, let us take a look at the Denver Broncos schedule and give out some predictions.
September 8th, at home vs Carolina Panthers
It is a Superbowl rematch to kickoff the season. For the Broncos to win, they will have to rely on the defense like they did in the Superbowl to. The offense has too many questions and is still coming together.

However, there is no reason to think that the offense cannot be better than it was. It wont be easy for the Broncos, but it could be made easier if the pass rush can dominate once again. With Trevor Siemian at quarterback, it is a good thing for him that the Panthers have two rookies at cornerback. Their inexperience should help the more experienced Broncos receivers, especially Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas.
Prediction: Denver 17 Carolina 9
September 18th, at home vs Indianapolis Colts
Playing the Colts at home is a lot better for the Broncos than if they were playing at Indianapolis. This game is hard to get a read on so early because, 1) both teams are dealing with a lot of injuries;
2) the Colts always are a harder match-up for the Broncos than they look like they are going to be on paper; and 3) the Broncos offense will still be getting everything together. The Broncos will need to take shots at the corners, but Thomas can’t let himself get shut down like normal against the Colts.
Prediction Denver 23 Indianapolis 17
September 25th, at Cincinnati Bengals
This will be a really tough game for the Broncos. The Bengals have everything that they need in order to make a serious playoff run, if the coaches could just put it together. They are great on defense and potentially great on offense.

Many teams go with the quarterback and Andy Dalton is inconsistent, which makes the offense inconsistent. The Bengals offense matching up with Denver’s defense is one heck of a battle to watch, if that offense is going.
If not, it may well end up a boring defensive battle where one big defensive play wins the game.
Prediction: Denver 13 Cincinnati 20
October 2nd, at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay has a really young team and a quarterback entering his second year. Jameis Winston had a great rookie campaign, but there is a fear of a sophomore slump. He has the weapons and talent around him to keep that slump from occurring.
The defense for the Buccaneers however, is a mess with talent here and there. It isn’t expected for the defense to be anything more than middle of the pack at best.

This would work to the Broncos advantage as by now, their offense should be starting to get things together after three games. This will be an extremely interesting game to watch as both teams are young and growing.
