Von Miller wins MVP and Defensive Player of the Year with record-setting season.

The single season sack record is 22.5 sacks set by Michael Strahan. Miller nets 25 total sacks on the season. Not only does he do that, he and his fellow outside linebackers break the 72 sack mark for a team record, and break the 12 sacks a game record.

More from Denver Broncos

When they break the single game sack record, Miller sets the single game sack record for a player (7) with 8 sacks in a single game. The team ends the game with 14 total, with DeMarcus Ware, Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett adding four more to Miller’s eight. Derek Wolfe notches the other two.

Miller is so dominate that he finally wins the elusive defensive player of the year and the first defensive player to win MVP since Lawrence Taylor in 1986. With his new contract, Miller not only proves he was worth every cent, but that it was actually a steal for the Broncos.
