Colorado Buffaloes Men’s Basketball

Last Week: N/A

The Buffs get the number four spot in our rankings despite suffering a 101-73 loss to the number seven ranked Oregon Ducks on Saturday. The fact is Colorado have been playing their best basketball of the season over the last few weeks, getting solid wins over Oregon State, Washington State and Washington. Outside of their most recent defeat, the Buffs defense has been getting it done, restricting teams to just 52, 49 and 66 points. They will need to continue this stellar defensive play if they want to make an impact in the upcoming Pac-12 tournament.

Colorado State Rams Men’s Basketball

Last Week: N/A

Like the Buffs, the Rams are playing their best basketball of the season right now. They are yet to register a loss in the month of February and are 7-1 in their last eight contests. The teams last outing was a hard-fought 78-73 win over Wyoming on the road on Valentines Day. CSU find themselves atop the Mountain West standings heading into tournament play, with Senior guard Gian Clavell and forward Emmanuel Emogbo leading the way. Clavell paces the team in scoring at 18.7 points per game on 43 percent shooting overall while Emogbo is currently tops the Mountain West conference in rebounding at 10.7 per contest. The Rams look terrific heading into the postseason.

Colorado State Rams Women’s Basketball

Last Week: N/A

The CSU Women’s basketball team has lost just once in its last 12 games, a 55-48 shocker on the road against Utah State earlier this month. Apart from that, the Rams have been tremendous. They reeled off nine straight wins to go undefeated in January and since their most recent loss, have registered another two victories to steady their season. The team currently sits 2.5 games clear on top of the Mountain West standings at 12-2 and are the favorite to take out the upcoming conference tournament and book their spot in the NCAA tournament in March. The Rams host New Mexico on Wednesday.
