Colorado Avalanche

Last Week: 7

The 2016-17 season has been disappointing for the Avs, but this past week may have been the worst seven day stretch of the season yet. The Avs lost all four games and were outscored 15-2 across the week. They were blown out by Winnipeg 6-1 and kept scoreless against both the Flyers and Blues, who managed to pile on four and three goals, respectively. The one great thing the Avs did this week was trade veteran Jarome Iginla to the LA Kings so he can have a chance at making a run in the playoffs.

Colorado Buffaloes Women’s Basketball

Last Week: 8

The Buffs were so close to completing a late comeback against Washington State in round one of the Pac-12 tournament only to fall short by a single point, going down 79-78. Colorado got off to a speedy start, jumping out to an early 17-4 lead before finishing the first quarter on top by 12. However, the Cougars clawed their way back into the game thanks to a 24-8 second quarter and the Buffs were left playing catch up the rest of the game. CU must now rely upon an invitation to the WNIT to keep their season alive.

Colorado Rapids

Last Week: N/A

It was great to see the Colorado Rapids back in action for the first time this MLS season against the Revolution at home. The team showed their stifling defense will, once again, feature heavily this season as they kept a clean sheet against New England. The Rapids managed to score in the 52′ minute through a Dominique Badji header off of Dillon Powers’ cross. The Rapids next head to New York to take on the Red Bulls on March 11.
