Colorado State Rams Men’s Basketball

Last Week: 3

CSU closed out the regular season by beating Wyoming in a tight contest before falling to Nevada in what was a battle for the Mountain West regular season title. The loss put an end to the teams seven game win streak and forces the Rams to play the tournament as the number two seed. They face the winner of Wyoming and Air Force in round two of the tournament and hopefully will be able to extract some revenge against Nevada in the Mountain West final.

Colorado State Rams Women’s Basketball

Last Week: 2

The Rams experienced a slight bump in the road this week when they suffered a loss on the road against Wyoming. However, it was quickly forgotten as the careers of seniors Elin Gustavsson and Ellen Nystrom were applauded during the teams final home game of the season, a 64-51 win over Nevada. The women were also officially awarded the Mountain West conference’s regular season title — their fourth in a row. The Rams now face the winner of San Diego State and San Jose State in round two of the Mountain West tournament.

Last Week: 1

Another week, another set of wins for the top ranked college ice hockey program in the nation. The Pioneers held the 21st ranked Omaha to just two goals across the two games, winning the first 4-2 before keeping the Mavericks scoreless in a 3-0 route on the road. The Pioneers have now won 11 consecutive games and will face off against Colorado College in the best of three games to see who will make it to the Frozen Faceoff. DU look untouchable right now and are playing their best hockey of the season at the best possible time.
