Now that free agency has slowed down and the picture is more clear, we have a go at predicting who the Denver Broncos will take in the upcoming NFL draft.

Following free agency the Denver Broncos have major holes on the offensive line, Tight End, as well as inside linebacker.

Bronco fans can only hope Elway’s draft picks, mainly top 3 picks, turn out and have impacts. Something that can’t be said of late, Cody Latimer being the most notable bust. With all that being said here is my Broncos 7 round mock draft including all compensatory picks the Broncos received.

#20. Cam Robinson OT Alabama

Other than off the field issues he is a clean, big, physical, SEC Tackle. He played and practiced against the best competition. Can slide in immediately at RT and slide to LT in a year or so depending on development. Needs to improve consistency, got beat by high motor type DE’s too often for his size and talent level. Alabama lineman as of late especially LT (D.J Fluker) haven’t fared well. Robinson is more refined and could change that stigma.

#51. Joe Mixon RB Oklaholma

Another guy with huge red flags off the field. Talent wise could easily make the case for 2nd best RB behind Fournette in a very deep RB class. The DV arrest and subsequent video of the incident have pushed Mixon off many teams boards. I bet a lot of those teams wish they hadn’t pushed Tyreek Hill of their draft boards for a mistake he made while he was a kid. The Broncos once draft Maurice Clarrett, a guy who had more red flags than any prospect I can remember. An OT in the first and a RB in the 2nd round could greatly benefit whoever is under center for the Broncos in 2017. Mixon is a 3 down back with good speed and vision. Breakaway speed and ball security is the biggest issue with Mixon. If he cleans those areas up he can be a good back in the league for a very long time.

#82. Bucky Hodges TE Virginia Tech

Denver misses out on the more refined TEs in the first 2 rounds and “settle” for Hodges in round 3. Hodges is a freakish athlete for his 6’6 250 frame. Great high pointing the ball and great vision after the catch to utilize his 4.6 50 speed and great acceleration. Not asked to block at VT. More of an oversized WR than an old school blocking TE. Route running could use refining. If you get him into your building and he buys in, watch out.
