Broncos 7 Round Mock Draft 1.0
#203. DeAngelo Brown DT/NT Louisville
BIG, hard to move, could be great replacement for the departed Sly Williams. I could see Denver addressing interior D Line in an earlier round but I liked Brown on tape and think this is a great value pick. Large frame, great balance. Needs to improve as pass rusher but not a better run stopping NT in the draft.
#238. Alex Anzalone LB Florida
If this process was based solely on talent, Anzalone would go Day 2 at the latest. Injuries are the biggest concern with the former Gator. 6’3 240. Ideal size and athleticism. Can fit into 3-4 or 4-3. Could be developed into a great interior LB if his body holds up. Reminds me of Kiko Alonso at inside Backer.
#252. Ben Gedeon LB Michigan
Denver needs to find an ILB that can thump and stop the run. Gedeon fits that mold. Not the best athlete, but will punch lineman at point of attack and keeps his pads square. Safe pick this late. Could eventually pay off.
#253. Nathan Gerry S Nebraska
Great instincts. Ball hawk. Not gonna wow you with measurables but instinct and anticipation allow him to make up for lack of athleticism. Can come up in the box in run support. Enforcer in the secondary. A lot of Cornhusker fans in Denver would love to see their defensive leader bring his talents to Denver.
