Don’t Call it a Comeback

Springtime in the Rockies!  For the first time in a long time, we aren’t enduring “Rockies mathematically eliminated” jokes in April.

The Rox enter this season with pretty high expectations.  They return almost the entire offensive side of last year’s better-than-you-think squad.

The Rockies, according to baseball-reference.com, finished in the top-10 in MLB for:

  • Fielding
  • Standard Batting
  • Standard Pitching
  • MLB Wins Above Average by Position

Now, I don’t know what that last one means but I know the Rockies were on the verge of the playoffs last year and have made solid moves with the pitching staff.

Early returns are mixed but they have yet to play a game at home and  they are still performing in the top third of the league in all of those categories.

It should be a fun Summer with the Rockies!
