Denver Nuggets: Blazers Preview
As we know, lots of things can and have happened in this crazy run to the Western Conference playoffs.
While it’s possible the Blazers could finish as low as sixth in the Conference, they are pretty solidly locked-in to position three or four. Utah is currently fourth. They have games with Golden State (who earned the second seed) and Portland to end their season. If they win tomorrow night at home against the Warriors it sets up a HUGE Wednesday night contest in Portland with the Blazers. If the Jazz lose to Golden State and the Blazers beat the Nuggets, the Blazers can secure the three seed.
That’s a lot of if’s. The Blazers should finish third or fourth in the West. Considering star point guard Damian Lillard is playing on a tender ankle and that they’ll be catching Utah on the second night of a back-to-back on Wednesday it isn’t out of the question that the Blazers will be very cautious tonight, in Denver.
The Nuggets on the other hand are on the outside looking in, they have to play with nothing-to-lose abandon. Factors that should set up well for the surging Nuggets.
