B. The Nuggets were high on Lyles in the 2015 draft. If you’ll recall, we kicked the tires on using the 7th pick to make Lyles the third Kentucky player taken in the first seven picks. When Emannuel Mudiay fell to seven, the Nuggets could not pass him up and Lyles ended up in Utah with the 12th pick. Fast forward two years, the Nuggets didn’t see anything valuable with the 13th pick in last year’s draft and swapped it for Lyles and the 24th pick (Lydon). Given the opportunity when Millsap went down Lyles at times excelled for the Nuggets. A deft 3-point shooter and a superior athlete, Lyles has an opportunity to solidify himself as the backup to Millsap and possible starter after next season.
Lyles averaged 9.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 19.1 minutes per game.
.
