Once again the Colorado Avalanche saddle-up facing a do-or-die game at Pepsi Center.
It’s becoming the calling card of the Colorado Avalanche these days, hanging on by the thinnest of threads. Pulling the season, the series or the game out at the last moment. Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
It is incredibly entertaining and incredibly stressful. Like my first dive into Avalanche hockey this team took about half a period to capture my interest.
After five highly entertaining games the Avalanche are still here.
Still here against a Predators team that has a razor-sharp focus on their goal after losing last year’s Cup Finals to the Penguins. Still kicking against Vezina candidate Pekka Rinne. Standing tall after Filip Forsberg’s theatrical greatness. Alive despite PK Subban’s best efforts to rattle.
We’ve reached the point where it doesn’t matter whether they win or lose. This team is remarkable.
