Although the Nuggets held a 98.2% chance to select 14th long-suffering Denver fans were hoping to move up.

The NBA is silly like that.

I am one of the people that think the way the draft lottery works out is fair.  For Denver, it’s fair because the Nuggets often dance on that line between legitimacy and ruin.  Never bad enough to get more ping-pong balls, never good enough to challenge. There’s no reason be it logic or fate or basketball gods that would justify the Nuggets moving up from the 14th spot.

It is not reasonable that teams that finished with substantially worse records than Denver should pick below the Nuggets because Nuggets fans really, really want a higher pick.  What’s worse?  Nuggets fans feel entitled to a higher pick.  Since Denver has never moved up and never secured a number one pick, fans feel like they are owed some justice. They are not.
