That is a very metal lead in for a pretty metal guy.  It’s his birthday tomorrow and like cheese and wine, he’s just getting better.  Have your mind blown with statistics if you like or follow Mike at @DunnForAll40 on Twitter.  You might think it’s an interesting handle for Twitter.  It is.  That is because Mike Dunn created a foundation while in Miami,in partnership with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, supporting the military’s Special Operations Forces and their families through college scholarships for surviving children, educational and family counseling, and grants called “All for One and Dunn for All”.  That is a remarkable and admirable way to give back.

In the off season, Dunn calls Las Vegas home.  He is married and the proud father of two sons who enjoys the outdoors.  Dunn was a position player in 2005 with the Yankees but did not convert to being a pitcher until 2006.  He did some bouncing around with the Braves and led Marlins’ relievers in appearances in 2011.  By 2014, he had a career best 10 win campaign, tying Tony Watson for most wins in the Majors by a reliever.  2017 would be Rockies time.  Mike Dunn would make a club high 68 relief appearances and his 500th career appearance an Sept. 25th versus his old home team of Miami.  That season was ended with a 4.1-inning scoreless streak across nine games.  The numbers are dizzying.  Do yourself a favor some time and take a look, just in case here it is again.

You never know until you look, so there are a few things you did not know about Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Mike Dunn, follow him on Twitter and support his foundation!  Rockies are people too!  Happy birthday Mike! Dunn da da dunn da da da dunn dunn dada da dunn
