What’s the Story, morning glory…….

Trevor Story is one of the bigger names on the Colorado Rockies.  Shortstop is one of the main positions and he is a big bat for the team.  Just about anyone, fan or no, has heard the Story of Trevor (haha, no I’m not going to stop).  But do we know anything about him?  Maybe not.  So here goes with a little knowledge, or let’s begin the….story as it were.  Dallas is the off season home to Trevor and his fiancee.  He has an older brother and you can follow him @Tstory2 on Twitter of @trevv4 on Instagram.

2016 Rockies Rookie

Trevor Story had quite a 2016 for the Colorado Rockies.  He had 27 home runs and 72 RBI’s in his rookie season, making him a leader in offensive statistics from the beginning.  In April alone he was named NL Rookie of the Month for his 10 home runs and 20 RBI’s.  10 home runs is a tie for the most in MLB history by a rookie since Jose Abreu in 2014.  He hit home runs in his first four career games being the only Major league player to ever do so.  The offensive achievements are just easier to record, Story is just as capable in the field that is just a more difficult statistical Story to tell.

2017 Roll On

The Story rolls on with batting achievements this season, leading all other short stops in RBI’s with 81.  He ranked second among the NL short stops in home runs hit with 23 total home runs for the season.  2017 was the year for his first grand slam against the San Francisco Giants on April 21 (nice to get that out-of-the-way).  Like Yahtzee.  He also ranked second in the MLB with 11 defensive runs saved, behind Andrelton Simmons.  He is definitely a prize in the Rockies organization and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Trevor Story and the Colorado Rockies
