Denver Broncos: 4 Players Standing Out in Camp
We’ve talked a bit about expectations from the Broncos in the offseason, here we want to look at four players among the many that are standing out at camp.
Early training camp returns, like NBA Summer League, should be taken with a grain of salt. The portion of camp that fans are invited to is fun and provides our first glimpse at the team. It is exciting and it is traditional.
The players even seem to enjoy the spectacle and play to the assembled fans. Von Miller spoke on his approach to camp. His contention that leadership starts at camp is not necessarily a departure for the Denver star but in his 8th season, it’s the first time I can recall him talking this seriously about leadership.
Von has tended to defer to guys like DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib. With the departure of Talib, Miller is now in a veteran role for his squad. There’s no doubt he’s prepared and capable.
Beyond the show and the fanfare, there have been several outstanding looks in camp so far. Courtland Sutton looks fantastic, Case Keenum has seemed better-than-advertised. Keenum in particular looks to have developed a connection with Emmanuel Sanders. D’Angelo Henderson has turned heads in the backfield. On the defensive side, cornerback Isaac Yiadom has stood out.
We picked these four players because their emergence could have a huge impact on the Broncos season:
