Acosta and Nicholson Come Up Big in Colorado Rapids Win Over Galaxy

The Colorado Rapids defense was a bright spot in this game. 

Yes, they did have a miscommunication that led to an easy, single Galaxy goal  but that was not reflective of their play the rest of the night.  Defenders were aggressive and challenged the ball when getting close to the box and goaltender Tim Howard came up with some big blocked shots through the game.

Colorado gave up 8 shots and, though, half of those were on target, the Rapids came away with 4 blocked shots.  Tim Howard’s 3 pretty saves were key to keeping the Galaxy score down, but defender Kortne Ford came up with a huge stop with an aggressive challenge to breakup what looked to be potentially an easy score.  Without a big night on the defensive end the Galaxy’s final score could have been much higher.
