Blue Monday – Orgy

The 1998 Orgy version of New Order’s Blue Monday fits Murray in the obvious ways.  Blue is in his soul as the Blue Arrow and a member of Big Blue Nation.  The Nuggets even have a predominately blue uniform.

But within the lyrics we can read a little of Jamal’s edge:

"How does it feel to treat me like you do? When you’ve laid your hands upon me And told me who you are I thought I was mistaken I thought I heard your words Tell me, how do I feel? Tell me, now, how do I feel?"

If you think of the above lyrics in the context of Murray’s beef with Lakers’ guard Lonzo Ball, it’s a biting yet interestingly polite rebuke.  Jamal is tough as nails but he’s not petty or mean.  A poetic takedown may be just his style.  Speaking of style, the beat seems to fit Murray, stylistically as well.
