Shannon Hoon, the late singer from Blind Melon was born in Lafayette, Indiana.  Just an hour North of Gary Harris‘ hometown of Fishers, Indiana.

There’s nothing particular about the lyrics to No Rain that would remind of Harris.  It’s more the tone of the song that fits what we see as Gary’s style.

Light and with perfect tempo, the song is a simplistic joy.  Like Harris, it’s not overcomplicated, doesn’t rely on big production but it is beautiful nonetheless.

With his new contract kicking in, I would doubt that Gary’s life is “pretty plain” but his performance on the court is far from plain (nailed it).
