Continued Aggressive Offense was a key to this win.

The Colorado Rapids were an extremely aggressive team in the win over the L.A. Galaxy.  I said they needed to keep this up in this match if they wanted to come away with a win over the Earthquakes. The Rapids did just that.

Aggressive play was going to be key in a match against an opponent who had given up 41 goals on the season before this match.  The Colorado Rapids won the  shots taken race with 16 shots taken.  They had five of those shots on target and were rewarded with two goals on the night.

The Rapids aggressive play can also be seen in their 14 fouls and three yellow cards.  The game ended up a bit chippy with San Jose drawing 12 fouls, two yellow cards, and one red card for the night for an elbow thrown by Shea Salinas.

The 4-4-2 diamond formation was once again used by Colorado and hopefully The Rapids stick to it.  It seems to be working and the aggressive play needs to continue for the rest of the season.
