The Colorado Rapids were confident and made accuracy a priority.

Confidence was one thing that was a double-edged sword in my keys to the win in this match.  The Colorado Rapids were coming off of two straight wins and should have been feeling good about a second match.  I said they needed to be confident but not over-confident.  I think the Rapids showed a good amount of confidence and that is what got them to a draw.

The Rapids kept shooting at a good team.  The marched the ball down the field and took it to the goal like they were going to score.  Their two goals came off of 10 shots.  One of those goals was again at the end of the game.  The Rapids never gave up when they were down.  This tells me they were a confident team coming into this game.

Accuracy was another key to the win in this match.  Luckily the Rapids were able to capitalize twice on the 10 shots they took.  I also said the Rapids needed to shoot at a higher percent and have accuracy to win.  They had 2 goals and 4 shots on target out of their 10.  For the season the Rapids have had a little over 33% of their shots on target.  This game was up 7%.  That is a pretty good increase on their season average.

The Rapids needed confidence and accuracy to win this game.  They had both in this match.  Based on confidence and accuracy the Colorado Rapids should have won this game.  The Rapids need to keep both of these keys to the win in mind in games going forward.  Keep this up and they will keep putting points toward their season.
