Offensive Tackles (4, 21)

Starters: Garrett Bolles, Jared Veldheer

Backups: Cyrus Kouandjio, Elijah Wilkinson

Comments: It seems strange to say that the second team offensive tackles have shined, but I believe they have. When Elijah Wilkinson crushed the end of the line with 5:55 to go in the first half against the Vikings, I half-expected to see Terrell Davis come running through the hole. Instead it was Royce Freeman for a 23-yard touchdown. It’s been years since there was this much talent in the offensive line. I know some in town are saying it will be Max Garcia instead of Elijah Wilkinson, but I hope not. I think we’ve seen what Max Garcia can do after three years, and Elijah Wilkinson is a future star. When asked about the offensive line after the Vikings game, Coach Joseph said “Elijah Wilkinson played great!” He played left tackle, right guard, and right tackle in the preseason games, and he played more minutes than any Bronco in each game so far. Doesn’t sound like someone you’re ready to cut.

Guard (3, 24)

Starters: Ron Leary, Connor McGovern

Backup: Billy Turner

Comments: Love Ron Leary. I just hope he’s healthy. He and Connor McGovern are both guys that play all the way to the whistle, which means you’ll frequently see linebackers flying through the air as the whistle blows. They quickly learn not to be staring at the pile before the whistle blows.

Center (1, 25)

Starter: Matt Paradis

Backup: Connor McGovern (starting guard)

Comments: Matt always gives a solid performance. And he always plays. Who needs a backup?
