Offensive Bubble Players

Wide Receiver Isaiah McKenzie looked like a lock to make the team when he returned a punt for a touchdown against The Vikings. Then he fumbled against The Bears, and memories of 2017 came rushing back. I believe Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton, and Tim Patrick have made the final roster, but Tim Patrick has to prove it every day.

Could Adam Jones be the next Broncos punt returner? If Adam Jones was a punt returner and backup corner-back, it would free up a roster spot for something else. I think Isaiah McKenzie is fighting The Bubble Machine. It probably matters how he plays against The Cardinals.

The Broncos can’t keep six running backs, so rookie Dave Williams and last year’s draft product De’Angelo Henderson Sr. are competing for a single spot. There are always some rookie running backs that wow everyone in the preseason, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see an addition from the waiver wire. It just depends on how The Broncos view these two young men versus who’s available, and how some other team deals with its own Bubble Machine.

Offensive Lineman Max Garcia, Billy Turner, Cyrus Kouandjio, and Elijah Wilkinson are probably fighting for three roster spots behind starters Garett Bolles, Ron Leary, Matt Paradis, Connor McGovern, and Jared Veldheer. Or are they? Stay tuned until our last panel.

And then there is Paxton Lynch, who hasn’t done anything to make the team. He’s on the bubble unless The Broncos can find a way to stash him for another year of hope.
