If the Texans can stay healthy…….

The Texans’ long quarterback search hit paydirt in 2017 with the emergence of Deshaun Watson.  Watson, in six starts for Houston posted 1,699 yards, 21 touchdowns (2 rushing) and a 103.0 QB rating.

Then, in an early-November practice, Watson tore his ACL and his season was done. You have to feel for Houston coach Bill O’Brien a little bit, he’s had an incredibly bad run at quarterback.

Watson has been reported to be healthy and showing no signs of injury at camp.  If he can regain the momentum from his rookie season, the Texans have a chance to be a force in the AFC.

Defensively, the injury plague has hit JJ Watt as hard as anyone over the past two-plus seasons.  Watt returned from a back injury that cost him the largest part of the 2016 season, only to suffer a broken leg in game 5 of the 2017 season.  One of the most fearsome defensive players of a generation, Watt has just now returned to light game action.  If his recovery progresses properly, he should be rounding into form just in time for the Broncos matchup.

Lots of ifs there and Houston’s history suggests that they will have a difficult path, injury-wise.
