Again, this one is a no-brainer. Millsap is easily Denver’s best defender and he needs to establish himself in that role from the start of the season.
The Golden State Warriors defensive identity is so closely tied to Draymond Green that it’s hard to identify who they are on the defensive end without him. Denver needs Millsap to be that kind of difference-maker. He’s not Green, but he can be Denver’s muscle and their defensive backbone.
Millsap carries the nickname “The Anchorman”, he’s never shied away from the responsibility of defense or defensive leadership. On a team like the Nuggets, there will be times when he’s asked to be the entirety of Denver’s interior defense. A role an injury-free Millsap should relish.
