Denver Nuggets: 3 Expectations for Will Barton

Will Barton needs to remind us why we love him.

Barton was in the Dunk contest.  He was brash and energetic.  He was our new Corey Brewer but more consistent.  He’s just one of those guys you like to watch play basketball.

We’ve detailed a ton of responsibility and improvement that we think would help the Nuggets but one thing that is certain is that Will Barton’s character and leadership are valuable to the team. If he doesn’t do anything else with his game in the weeks leading up to the season, he should remember the joy and flare that he plays with.

Barton is 27 now, that age that they say is the perfect balance, your physical abilities are still at peak performance and you’ve gained wisdom and maturity to take the best advantage of those skills. In the season Michael Jordan turned 27, he averaged 33.6 points per game on 53% shooting.  It’s a magical time for an athlete.

Barton can continue to be the wildcard of the Nuggets starters, the energy but also sometimes the stability.  He can do it in a style only Will Barton has.
