Denver Broncos vs. Houston Texans: Gametime
The Denver Broncos saddle up for the second-half of a season that’s tested perceptions of the team. While 3-5 isn’t disastrous, Dove Valley feels like it’s in disarray.
There’s a lot of doom and gloom surrounding the Denver Broncos but there’s also things to look forward to. The planned Broncos tribute to Demaryius Thomas and anticipated crowd reaction will be nice and spark sentiment.
Also, for whatever reason, I feel like Denver is going to win this game. Like Arizona Cardinals win the game. I don’t know why, Houston is coming in hot while Denver is limping into next week’s bye. With Thomas an a Texans uniform for the first time, it will give Denver fans an extended look at Courtland Sutton, whose size and playmaking ability remind many of DT.
It will be a chance for Phillip Lindsay to add to his growing resumé, we hope without the offensive penalties to undermine his production.
We get to see the return of Jared Veldheer and the debut of Su’a Cravens and River Cracraft.
Sometimes there’s a freedom a team with little left to lose plays with and that can be dangerous. The Broncos players, for all the turmoil they’ve endured this season, deserve a run of games where they can just play. Who knows what may come from the freedom from expectations.
