Denver Broncos: 3 Pieces of Good News Halfway Through
Ok, they’ve all been 2018 draft picks or free agents.
That’s the best news this season is that there is talent on this team to build for the future. Much attention still needs to go to the offensive line, inside linebacking and defensive secondary positions but the Broncos have a strong receiving corps, great punch from the offensive backfield with Andy Janovich, Lindsay, Royce Freeman and Devontae Booker. They are loaded at wideout with Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton, Tim Patrick and even River Cracraft.
Consider that Denver’s first three picks were Chubb, Sutton and Freeman. All three have starting roles for the Broncos.
The next three, Isaac Yiadom, Josey Jewell and Hamilton have seen significant time with Yiadom and Jewell starting for injured players at points in the season.
That’s six players contributing significantly from one draft. Contributing as rookies. That is a feather in the beleaguered John Elway‘s cap. For all the mistakes at quarterback, the Broncos have a decent young foundation bolstered by the haul from this year’s draft.
