Denver will face the Nets back home tonight hoping to forget losing a heartbreaker to the Grizzlies on Wednesday. The red-hot Nuggets were anything but that on that particular day and we collectively are holding our breath to see the Cinderella team back on the floor (and if Nikola Jokic will be “present”). The absence of the Joker is less concerning when the wins keep coming.
The Nuggets are now 9-2 (the same in the loss column as the reigning champs in the Golden State Warriors) and the Nets in a re-build year can right the course. A loss doesn’t mean they still aren’t a threat in the West and a dark horse for this season.
The Nets are middle-of-the-road as their median record suggests. Last summer the Nuggets sent over Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur to the Nets so we may see familiar faces. It would be nice to see Faried has found a better fit, he’s an exciting, energetic player that I would like to see more of personally.
The old Nuggets would probably lose this game. They lost a lot of games they should have won. It’s a running joke around the Mile High, the disappointing play of our franchises. As soon as you are sure this is it, is when the bubble pops.
Saying that, this is it. Don’t let a loss fool you. A flat game where no one stands out happens to the best of us and let’s say it, they still almost won. This is it. Next on the chopping block will be Brooklyn because the Denver Nuggets close games like they should now.
The Nuggets will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday, November 11, 6:00 P.M. MST.
