A supersonic start for the Denver Nuggets lead to a disappointing losing streak that looks to have ended with the Atlanta win. Both teams are looking to get a different streak going with a consecutive win.
Jamal Murray will return to his starting position for the Denver Nuggets after coming off the bench for the Hawks game. While some different rotations have been experimented with a minor team rule infraction was why the youngster didn’t start. Monte Morris did a great job with his start but I’m glad to see Murray back.
The Atlanta game was the win to snap the current losing streak for the Denver Nuggets but it was a glimpse of the team that started the season with a bang. The defense was back and it seemed everything else fell into place. It’s maybe easier to do against the struggling Hawks, so the Nugs are looking to confirm some things in tonight’s match-up against New Orleans.
The teams met already this year with the Pels being counted among the victims of the Nuggets beginning of the year tear. It was also a game that heavyweight Anthony Davis did not play in. Davis will be present for this game and is coming off a 43-point monster game against the Knicks.
Anthony Davis is always someone you plan for but Nikola Mirotic gave us our share of headaches during the last meeting. Jrue Holiday has been playing well consistently and E’Twaun Moore has emerged as a scoring threat.
This game is the beginning of a 3 game road trip for the Nuggets. Monday they will face Milwaukee and Minnesota on Wednesday. If the Nuggets are “back” this is an important time to show it and get some wins against formidable opponents.
