Denver Nuggets 3 Tips to Topping T’Wolves
The Denver Nuggets will close their, so far, ugly three game road show with the Minnesota T’Wolves. The newly acquired Saric and Covington will ensure the Wolves don’t go down without a fight.
So, Jimmy Butler. Personally, I wouldn’t have traded a flat of sports drank to get him but that’s because I feel like his style doesn’t fit this Denver Nuggets team. We have heard a lot surrounding him lately.
Maybe he could stand to be a nicer friend but he has for sure made a negative impact on the Minnesota team. He was traded for Robert Covington and Dario Saric on November 12. The T’Wolves have been 3-1 without him, not bad. Tip one, control this tempest as much as possible.
The loss the Minnesota squad did suffer post-Butler was to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. This game was cited as a loss from the team basically being tired and off. The Nuggets will need some of that fatigue to linger if they want a shot.
Ready to throw in the towel on all the great Denver Nuggets predictions for this year? It may be premature but also, welcome to the fandom. Obviously they weren’t going to win every game but it’ easy to feel like the wheels have come off when you are hyperfocused on a team too. The Rockets had a rough patch, the Warriors are having a rough patch. No one thinks they probably aren’t any good after all.
Jamal Murray has been in a shooting slump and now he looks like he’s just trying too hard. He’s also phenomenal and not too far away from a 48 point game, let’s not turn on him just yet. Gary Harris has been quietly turning in his 20 points but there’s something definitely missing from him lately. Tip two, if shooting doesn’t even out let’s get in the paint more.
Nikola Jokic has been steady and turning in good numbers. Maybe, the numbers are in the wrong places though. The Joker is capable of scoring 30+ points but that doesn’t mean he should. The Nuggets do best when his assists are high not his scoring. Tip three, let Nikola do what he does best.
We thought the turning point was the Atlanta victory but then getting shut down by the Pelicans and Bucks was tough. Both looked like games we would win and then came the quarter (or so) of what looks like confused play by the Nugs. The good news is that’s what happens before issues get ironed out. I expect to see a fired up Denver team for this match-up.
