Denver Broncos: The 5 Greatest Super Bowl Moments
The Denver Broncos have participated in eight Super Bowls, winning three. That places them in pretty elite company in the NFL.
Of course, the standard is now the New England Patriots who have played in a thousand and won like 800 Super Bowls. We should rename the Sun to Tom Brady and all the stars in the heavens should now be called Bill Belichick. The Denver Broncos are lucky to get to play in a league that has the Patriots.
There, that’s all I have to say about Super Bowl LII and the Pats. Whatever Boston fan wants to hear, just please go away. Oh, and GO RAMS!
So, as far as personal experience with the Broncos in the Super Bowl, I’m a little fuzzy on XII, I was around and I saw it but the Craig Morton Broncos of Red Miller and the Roger Staubach Cowboys of Tom Landry are pretty fuzzy. For that reason and the fact that the Broncos got trounced. Morton had four interceptions and four completions. Yikes.
Super Bowls XXI, XXII and XXIV are much more memorable, happened with John Elway and Dan Reeves running the Broncos and garner some attention for this list.
Toting an 0-4 Super Bowl record to San Diego for Super Bowl XXXII, the Broncos were seen as a bump in the road to Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers repeat. Denver’s Super Bowl history was hard to shake. That game alone puts two on the list. The follow-up, Denver’s Championship repeat over the Atlanta Falcons gets a nod.
Another loss, this one to the Seahawks doesn’t merit inclusion but the big Super Bowl 50 win over the Carolina Panthers gets on the list.
Have fun with the list and feel free to tell us what you think belongs! List is in ascending order.
