Anderson actually currently resides as the number two back behind Ball, but that is largely stemming from last year thanks to Denver’s lack of trust in Hillman. That could be temporary, though, as offensive coordinator Adam Gase has publicly declared the backup job to Ball “wide open”. Anderson is undersized and hasn’t yet flashed great versatility, but has run well in preseason and garbage regular season time. There might be some upside here, but the backup job is likely Hillman’s to lose. Monitor the situation as the summer carries on, as Ball’s main backup should hold some random fantasy Flex value from week to week.
