If you have been living under a rock for the past couple of days, you might not have noticed that the Denver Nuggets are linked to being a potential suitor for Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Kevin Love. I bet you’re thinking, what would the Nuggets need to give up in order to acquire a player of Love’s value?

More from Denver Nuggets

First off, Denver has plenty of assets that they could throw at the Timberwolves. According to a report from SI.com, the Nuggets would put forth a package containing Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler to acquire Love.

"As Bulpett reports, the Nuggets would give up forward Kenneth Faried and swingman Wilson Chandler for Love, and would also give Minnesota another player Denver apparently plans on acquiring in a potential three-team deal, perhaps guard-forward Arron Afflalo from the Orlando Magic."

The only way I could see this deal making sense for the Nuggets is if they can get Love to put pen to paper on signing an extension to join the Nuggets. It would be foolish to see Denver trade away Faried, Chandler, draft pick, and possibly Afflalo to watch Love walk in 2015.

Here is what a projected Denver Nuggets lineup would look like today if they acquired Kevin Love.

Point Guard: Ty Lawson
Shooting Guard: Randy Foye
Small Forward: Danilo Gallinari
Power Forward: Kevin Love
Center: Timofey Mozgov

Bench:

JaVale McGee
J.J. Hickson
Nate Robinson
Darrell Arthur
Evan Fournier
Quincy Miller
Anthony Randolph

Looks pretty darn good to me.

Denver would then have three roster spots available to which they could purchase the contracts of 2013 draft picks Erick Green and Joffrey Lauvergne, or they could either fill-up the roster with a couple of free-agent signings; plus their second-round draft choice, that’s if they don’t trade their 11th overall pick.

The NBA Draft is slated to begin on Thursday, June 26th. Until then, it will be interesting to hear/see all the buzz about what potential moves the Denver Nuggets could make.
