Personally, I don’t view this as a surprise but many will. Prior to this year, Dickerson impressed me with his quick bat and power that he possessed. Heading into 2014, I believed he should have been the start, but  had one heck of an April preventing that.

Dickerson, 25, is currently second on the Rockies roster in terms of batting average — behind All-Star Troy Tulowitzki. Dickerson is hitting .325/.391/.571 with 14 doubles, 3 triples, 11 home runs, and 35 RBI’s.

Dickerson could have well been a write-in for the All-Star game, but he has been valuable to this club with the absence of Carlos Gonzalez. With CarGo moving over to right field, expect Dickerson to start a lot of games in left during the second-half.

Blackmon has earned his first All-Star game selection and had an incredible month of April. He went on to hit .389/.434/.642 with 7 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs, and 18 RBI’s in 95 at-bats.

Entering the break, Charlie is hitting .306 with 14 home runs, and 52 RBI’s out of the lead-off spot.
