The Verdict

The reality is you really can’t go wrong here. Rodgers was as reliable as it gets and he missed half the year with a freak injury. Manning is 38 and had a neck issue that robbed him of his entire 2011 season, yet otherwise hasn’t missed a single game throughout the rest of his NFL career.

This is all about talent and possibility. Both quarterbacks have the talent and the supporting cast. Even at 38, Manning can still sling it enough to put up insane records, while Rodgers can still run and accrue fantasy value with his legs.

On an even playing field, the slight edge has to go to Rodgers. He simply offers an element Manning never really has and certainly can’t now. You can’t go wrong here, as even Drew Brees is a suitable QB1 that could challenge for the top spot. However, of the three, Rodgers is probably the safest bet.
