THE DENVER BRONCOS MUST ESTABLISH A RUNNING GAME

The ground game is not the Denver Broncos forte, but in order to give themselves the best chance at defeating the Patriots and reaching the Super Bowl, they must establish an effective rushing attack. Because of Peyton Manning’s lack of mobility and struggles throughout this season, it is imperative that C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman attack the Patriots’ defense.

Last week against Pittsburgh, the Denver Broncos rushed for 109 yards between Anderson and Hillman. New England does not boast the best run defense in the league, having variable efforts this season. In the Denver Broncos victory over the Patriots earlier this season, C.J. Anderson rushed for 113 yards and 2 TD’s, while Ronnie Hillman rushed for 59 yards and 1 TD in the Denver win.

Establishing a ground game takes the pressure off of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos receivers, and opens up the offense. We will see if the Broncos’ backs can produce the same way they did earlier in the year against New England.
