Wide Receiver Emmanuel Sanders

The Denver Broncos could be without receiver Demaryius Thomas who is battling with a hip injury. Even if he does play, he will be limited. This would put pressure on the other receivers, especially Emmanuel Sanders.

What makes Sanders and Thomas such a dynamic duo isn’t just because of their different play styles, but what they do for each other. Coverage’s are constantly having to shift because of what one of the two does on any given play.

Demaryius Thomas being questionable will put more on Sanders, and is what landed him on this list. Cody Latimer and Jordan Taylor are still unknowns as receivers and Jordan Norwood is inconsistent, but could be big for the Broncos.

The Colts will be without their top corner, and they have others hurt. That balances out the injury to Thomas. Sanders is an exceptional talent, and likely will take a lot of double teams in coverage. So his big game doesn’t have to show on the stat sheet.

More from Denver Broncos

All Sanders has to do is take the double teams, and take coverage from the other receivers, including Thomas if he plays. If Bennie Fowler wasn’t hurt and playing, that would ease some of the pressure off of Sanders and add another serious threat for the offense. Since he isn’t, it opens up the door for another receiver to help take that pressure off.

If another receiver steps up and starts demanding serious coverage, then Sanders needs to make plays. It will be up to him to be the receiving weapon that the offense will need from their receivers. He is a dangerous threat who can win in many ways.

There are a few others who Denver could really use to have really good games. The secondary for instance. If they can play tight coverage, it would help out Miller and the other rush linebackers. The run game can help out the defense and passing game, so C.J. Anderson could be a big help.

Then there is Trevor Siemian. His having a big game can help out the team. He could take the pressure off of everyone. However, if these other players, especially Green and Sanders have big games, it takes pressure off of Siemian. Remember, this will be just the second start for the young quarterback.
