The Denver Broncos went on the road to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. It was a rough go for the team on both sides of the ball in the first half, but they bounced back in the second half. In a tough game, the Broncos pulled out the win.

It wasn’t pretty to start the game. Very clearly being on the road in Cincinnati cause some troubles for the Denver Broncos. The offense had their struggles with no run game and bad passes from the quarterback, and the defense looked like they couldn’t stop a nose bleed.

Halftime changed everything for the Denver Broncos.

In the first half the Broncos scored two touchdowns through the air. One was a beautiful pass near the endzone, the other was a deep pass turned into a touchdown. Along with that came multiple near interceptions, if the Cincinnati Bengals defenders didn’t drop them. They also had little to no help on the ground.

Defensively they were run over on the first Bengals drive, including a 50 yard run from Jeremy Hill. It looked like the game was going to be a runaway for the Bengals, but the defense stepped up. They still had their issues, and allowed another touchdown run in the first half.

It wasn’t pretty, but Denver was entering halftime up 16-14. Both sides had a lot of adjustments to make. The game would be decided by which team not only made the adjustments, but executed them as well.

To start the second half the Bengals would be getting the ball after deferring to start the game. They had their chance to show off their offensive adjustments, while Denver had a chance to show theirs on defense. Denver came out on top by holding the Bengals to one first down before forcing them to punt.

Now it was time for Trevor Siemian to show his adjustments. He threw two touchdowns in the first half, but the rest of his throws were sloppy. There would need to be an improvement to help Denver win. Unfortunately, he threw one pass that was caught and then fumbled.

Their following drive was a three and out. Things were not looking good for Siemian and the Broncos offense. Their offensive line was allowing a lot of pressure on Siemian, especially from right tackle Ty Sambrailo. Sambrailo was seeing his first action since early last season, so some rust is understandable.

The change in play from the Broncos offense didn’t really show until the fourth quarter. Siemian got hot and led Denver to a long touchdown drive. Earlier they missed an extra point, so the Broncos went for two on the legs of Siemian. He stumbled and fell short. Denver was up 22-17.

Time was running out and the Bengals were getting the ball. The Broncos defense stepped up and held them to a three and out. A huge thanks to the Broncos corners for being key to the three and out with their tight coverage and tough tackling.

The ensuing Broncos drive and Siemian got his fourth touchdown on the day. This one was on a deep pass to Demaryius Thomas, which looked a lot like a play from the previous week. Siemian led Thomas perfectly and Thomas did the rest. After an extra point, Denver went up 29-17.

There was still time left for the Bengals to comeback. That was put to an end quickly. On the first play of the next drive Andy Dalton threw an interception. Rookie Safety Will Parks got his first career interception. Due to an injury to T.J. Ward, Parks was seeing a lot of action throughout the game.

That was a game ending interception. Time was limited for the Bengals after the Broncos drive. They were unable to amount a drive to score. Thus ending the game. It was a rough start for the Denver in a tough place to play. They are resilient and they showed it as they pulled out the victory.
